Happy Birthday Devin

Okay, anybody that knows us well, knows that Devin was born on leap day. As a result, we are forced to celebrate his birthday on the 28th the three years between each leap year. So, we celebrated this past Sunday. Chad allows the boys to pick out their own menu on their birthdays. So, Devin chose steaks on the grill, loaded baked potatoes, green beans el dente sauteed in butter, and garlic bread. As usual, with the WONDERFUL cook I am married to, it was delish. He ate so much that he wanted to skip cake and ice cream until the following night. So, last night we got to eat the cake and ice cream. Not a bad idea to split it up over two days so you can enjoy it longer. He made fun of us for singing to him and he wouldnt let me take his picture with the cake because his hair was a mess from wearing a hat during baseball practice. So, I figured I would at least write about it so we could have this memory recorded nonetheless.

Baby Think It Over

So, Devin brought home a baby from school last weekend. He had the responsibility to rock it, feed it, change it's diapers, etc. It is a computer programmed/ computer monitored baby, so it kept track of how good of a caregiver Devin was. The first night, he slept in our room because we had a house full of guests and I didnt want the baby keeping them up all night. It woke up crying at 2:00, 3:00 4:00, 6:00 and finally again at 7:00 a.m. I am convinced that it is programmed to cry in 15 min intervals no matter what you do for it. Devin had initially named it Jose when he first got home with it, but by 4:00 a.m. he had renamed it TURD! And one more thing, I am sure when he gets his grade there will be a deduction of points from the second night for ShAkInG bAbY sYnDrOmE!
Devin REFUSED to let me take a picture of him with it, so I settled for capturing the bracelet that he had to wear that proved HE was the one caring for the baby and not someone else.
